The construction of Tower 3 and New Media Tower is part of UMN masterplan. In accordance with the existing masterplan, in addition to these two lecture buildings, UMN plans to build three similar buildings. “We plan to build another energy-efficient building. The plan is that by 2030 the new buildings can already be used for activities on campus,” said UMN Vice Rector Andrey Andoko.
These five buildings are UMN masterplan and will be built using passive design. This is in accordance with UMN’s commitment as a university that cares about energy efficiency.
