October 21, 2024TANGERANG – On the 30th of August 2024, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) signed a collaboration agreement with PT Sysmex Indonesia. The meeting was held at the UMN campus and attended by several UMN and Sysmex Indonesia representatives.
Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA, UMN’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, was present to represent the UMN rectorate and welcome the representatives of PT Sysmex Indonesia. Ika said that although the meeting aims to sign a recruitment cooperation agreement, she hopes the collaboration can be expanded into various aspects.
“For example, Sysmex can provide a scholarship for UMN students, such as a CSR scholarship or a job guarantee. It is a win-win solution. Sysmex can get access to the best talents, and UMN is very happy to receive any educational funds for our students. This is a kind of scholarship scheme that we typically offer to companies that work with us,” Ika said.
Ika hopes this collaboration can strengthen the bond between UMN and PT Sysmex Indonesia. UMN welcomes any other collaboration ideas from Sysmex and hopes that more collaborative projects can be done.
“If you need anything else, like a project that involves UMN lecturers to conduct community service or market research projects, please reach out to us. We will connect you with the best UMN study program that fits the project,” Ika said, ending her welcoming speech.
Sysmex Indonesia representative, Maria Nolayanti, Senior Manager HRGA, also gave her opening speech.
“We actually collaborated with various universities but have never done any official ceremonial signing like this. It is an honor to be invited to UMN here. We were wowed when we saw the campus,” Maria said. Sysmex then provided a brief introduction about Sysmex Indonesia.
Sysmex is a multinational company engaged in the healthcare business from Japan but is Westernized. According to PT Sysmex Indonesia’s official site, the company is a subsidiary of Sysmex Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
Established in 2002, Sysmex Indonesia is well-known and has a high reputation for delivery and implementation of clinical IVD and health IT products and services for clinical laboratories, hospitals, and healthcare organizations.
Maria then propose collaboration ideas that UMN and PT Sysmex Indonesia can do together. She said that so far, they need talents from IT and accounting.
It is shared that PT Sysmex Indonesia often conducts sharing sessions to share valuable information with prospective workers. Students learn what they need to learn and prepare during college in addition to learning so they can be more well-prepared when entering the workforce.
PT Sysmex Indonesia also has a successful internship program. They have supported the Government’s Independent Learning-Independent Campus program for two years.
“When interns work with us, they don’t do simple tasks but are truly trained so they have some sense. When students intern with us, they will get hired during or after they have completed their internship program. We are pretty proud of that,” Maria said.
Representatives from several UMN study programs then shared their interests in collaboration, especially in research. Plenty of collaboration ideas were discussed. We hope that UMN and PT Sysmex Indonesia can contribute to bettering the quality of the Indonesian workforce and positively impacting society and the environment.
