November 20, 2023Digital Economy Workshop (01/11). (Doc. UMN).
Tangerang – UMN held a workshop discussing the digital economy and productivity, inviting Prof. Michael Reed, Ph.D., from the University of Kentucky.
The workshop themed “The Digital Economy and Productivity” was held on (01/11). The event invited Prof. Michael Reed, Ph.D., a University of Kentucky, USA representative, as the guest speaker, and Ir. Arief Iswariyadi, M.Sc., Ph.D as Head of Innovation Center UMN as moderator.
In this workshop, Michael discussed productivity and economic activities carried out digitally because many things are now digital and instant. In his presentation, Michael conveyed examples of the digital economy, starting from social networks, digital platforms, security systems, In-App purchases, price comparison, and translation software.
“Platforms like this are very easy to use and access, so buyers can choose what they want. These platforms are usually quite large and can manage their own market. This is because sellers know that the expenses will be lower and there will be more people,” said Michael in his presentation.
This technological advancement also makes it easier for buyers and sellers. Sellers and buyers can interact directly. In addition, transactions are also easier. Another advantage we can get from this digital economy is that it opens up access to new people so that there will continue to be innovative and creative things. On the other hand, it also hones people’s abilities continuously.
We can see this from the advancement of technology today, like applications such as e-commerce and productivity applications that continue to develop and innovate, so that with the development of this technology, people can also carry out their activities more easily.
We can ensure that this digital economy makes us continue to develop and helps us constantly hone our skills. In addition, people can also be inspired to keep innovating.
