March 1, 2022TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN), together with the Kemuning Village government, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (14/2) at the Kemuning Village Head Office Hall, Legok District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. UMN and the Kemuning Village government will create a smart village.
“Multimedia Nusantara University together with Kemuning Village as a foster village aims to interpret a ‘Smart Village’ concept to Kemuning Village. This will transform them into a smart village in many aspects of the village’s lives,” said Community Service Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) team, Wuri Hardini Veronica.
‘Smart Village’ consists of six concepts: Smart Governance, Smart Branding, Smart Economy, Smart Living, Smart Society, and Smart Environment. Here, Wuri explained that UMN would help Kemuning Village in regards to various training: writing simple financial reports for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), digital literacy training for karang taruna, content creating training to promote the MSMEs products on social media, product packaging training, and Microsoft Office training for the officials and villagers.
This educational activity will involve lecturers and students as mentors who will coach villagers and officials of Kemuning Village.

“This collaboration is a form of contribution for the world of education. Especially, the Nusanstara Multimedia University campus for empowerment and development of fostered villages,” Wuri said.
According to Wuri, this program was meant to be designed by various universities in Indonesia to make a real contribution and realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. As a representative of the LPPM UMN, Wuri hopes that this program can positively impact the development of the assisted villagers. In addition, this can also be a forum for UMN to share its knowledge with the community.
For informational purposes, this Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed by Winarno, the Director of UMN’s Institute for Research and Community Services, and the Head of Kemuning Dadang Village. Meanwhile, there are also witnesses from the signing of this MoU, which includes Kemuning Village officials, representatives of Youth Organizations and MSMEs, and the UMN’s Institute for Research and Community Services team.
