TANGERANG – The Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kementerian Sekretariat Negara/Kemensetneg) of the Republic of Indonesia visited Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) on Monday (6/62022). The purpose of the visit is to establish cooperation in the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka/MBKM) program, specifically for the UMN student internship program at the Ministry of State Secretariat.
In addition, this meeting is also to obtain information, discuss and share experiences, and collect new steps related to communication strategies that are implemented as part of the work program for the coordination of public relations and disclosure of public information.
This visit was welcomed by the Chancellor of UMN, Dr. Ninok Leksono, M.A., and UMN’s vice-chancellor, dean, head of study programs, and staff. This opportunity is hoped to allow UMN students to know the presidential and vice president protocol systems, regulations, protocols, public relations, and others.
“Hopefully, we can stay in touch and meet the needs of the Ministry of State Secretariat’s public relations bureau,” Ninok said.
Digitalization of transformation is a keyword that the Ministry of State Secretariat continues to develop under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc. Sc., who promotes innovation and creativity through the pillars of digital transformation.
“For this reason, to this date, there have been 152 digitalization transformations related to innovations more for the office business in the government. But, our visit to UMN can sharpen innovation developments not only in the Ministry of State Secretariat but also in Indonesia,” Eddy Cahyono, the Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of State Secretariat, said.
President Joko Widodo, on several occasions, had mentioned smart cities and the Ministry of State Secretariat tried to implement this idea long before the Merdeka campus.

Eddy explained that the Ministry of State Secretariat had opened up opportunities for millennials and hoped this would contribute to the development of Indonesia. Collaborations will be conducted so they can share pieces of knowledge throughout the 4-month internship.
“We want to build collaborations with UMN friends because we believe that everyone at UMN has expertise in their respective scientific fields and is supported by extraordinary technology and a sturdy ecosystem,” he continued.
Eddy hopes this collaboration can produce an ecosystem to equip the younger generation to build a more advanced Indonesia.
