Working as an academician has been her ambition since Ika Yanuarti was in college. She was taking her undergraduate programme in Management in University of Surabaya when she started to teach as lecturer assistant.

Ika graduated from the University of Surabaya in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. During that time, she had already begun her teaching career. Three years later, she received a scholarship to pursue her graduate studies at the University of the Philippines. She graduated in 2003 with a master’s degree in Finance. In 2004, Ika resumed teaching at the University of Surabaya and the Indonesian European University in Surabaya. In 2024, she successfully completed her postgraduate studies at UCSI University, Malaysia. Currently, she serves as a Lecturer in the Management Study Program and holds the position of Vice Rector for Student Affairs at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara.

This woman who was born in Surabaya has ever also worked in industry field. Exactly in 2006 until 2009, Ika was an assistant manager for investment department in Sinarmas, a life-insurance company, which is based in Jakarta.

But her interest in education kept calling her to go back teaching. In 2010, Ika went back teaching as a lecturer in Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). At that time, she was also the head for Career Development Center (CDC) Department in UMN. As an academician, Ika has ever presented her paper in national as well as in international conference and seminar. She also frequently publishes her paper in national and international journal, too.

Right in 2014, Ika Yanuarti was promoted as Vice Rector of Student Affair. She got her CSA or degree for certified securities analyst.
