TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Doss Guava XR Studio on Wednesday (01/08) in UMN’s Alor Room. The MoU signing was attended by Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, S.Sn., M.Ds., the Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Art and Design, Kus Sudarsono, S.E., M.Sn., Head of Film Department, Fonita Theresia Yoliando, S.Ds., Head of VCD Department, and representatives from UMN Polytechnic. In addition to the signing of the MoU, both parties also discussed the potential for cooperation in developing creative Human Resources (HR) in the future.
Doss Guava XR Studio is a virtual production studio company that focuses on providing solutions to the film industry, production houses, and other content creators through virtual extended-reality (XR) technology with cinematic results in the cinematography ecosystem, and is one of the pioneer XR studios in Indonesia.
UMN’s collaboration with Doss Guava XR Studio is based on the desire to work together to explore various possibilities from the academic side, which are then applied in the industry, or vice versa, bringing issues from the industry to explore solutions in the academic realm.
Although Doss Guava XR is a virtual production studio that is scientifically more related to the Film Study Program, the collaboration with Doss Guava XR Studio does not rule out the possibility of collaboration with UMN Architecture and VCD students.

Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, S.Sn., M.Ds, as the Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Arts and Design, explained, “VCD and Architecture students can still get the opportunity, where many digital assets can be created in every production process. Because at the Faculty of Arts & Design UMN, students also learn to use digital applications in design and game engines to realise their ideas.”
According to Fonita Theresia Yoliando, S.Ds., the Head of the VCD Study Program, she admitted that this collaboration could also be related to courses in the Interaction Design specialization of the VCD UMN study program, which focuses on learning and developing several digital platforms, such as games, AR, VR, websites, and applications. UMN is very open to opportunities for Doss Guava XR Studio to be present in exhibitions of UMN student work both within the campus environment and exhibitions in public areas to get closer to students.
“We strive for Indonesia to have independence in the future in the creation of works. One of them is with extended reality (XR) which is the most realistic solution at this time or as our shortcut in making creations and presenting the absence of something,” added Upie, Head Director of Doss Guava XR Studio.
Arie, a Doss Guava XR Studio representative, also expressed his hope to collaborate with UMN, “On this occasion, we are delighted to have a special relationship with the campus. Through this collaboration, it can be a benchmark where as an industry, we prepare human resources for the future to face the dynamics of cinema. In addition, with this collaboration, we can introduce the world of virtual production starting with workshop presentations, internship opportunities, and so on. So that when they graduate, they (students) are already mature.”
In the future, UMN can also involve Doss Guava XR Studio in various events held by Study Programs at the UMN Faculty of Art and Design, exploring student work and vice versa can be involved as assessors/judges.
