More Advanced! Borrowing Books from The Library is Now Easier with UNION

Tangerang – Last February 17, 2023, UNION had a new feature called “Library” that allows students to borrow books with just one press. 

Previously, borrowing books in the library could be done through the Self Loan Machine. However, the library continues to innovate and collaborate with the IT Department to finally issue the latest UNION application feature, the ‘UMN Library’ feature.

The development of the latest UNION feature aims to make it easier to borrow books in the library using only the NFC technology available on cell phones. Through this innovation, students can borrow library books without the need to queue. Students also do not need to be afraid of forgetting and losing book loan receipts because, in the UMN Library UNION feature, students can easily access their book loan history.

How to borrow books using this UMN Library UNION feature? Here are the steps:

1. Turn on the NFC technology on your cell phone;
2. Then, scan the book to be borrowed by attaching the cellphone to the book cover; 
3. Double-check and reconfirm whether the book to be borrowed matches the information on their cellphone screen; 
4. If correct, click the confirmation button and re-scan the book;
5. If a Transaction Receipt appears, the book has been borrowed and can be taken home.

Through this UMN Library UNION feature, students can also see a history of what books have been borrowed and when they must be returned. In addition, if students want to extend the borrowing time of a book, they can easily extend it through their cell phones without visiting the library staff directly. 

Borrowing books has never been easier! Let’s update the UNION application through the App Store or Google Play Store and try the UMN Library UNION feature. Make sure your cellphone has NFC technology!
