Tangerang – On Tuesday (17/02/2023), the Chancellor of Multimedia Nusantara University, Ninok Leksono, together with the leaders of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, accompanied by the UMN rectorates, the leadership of PT Multimedia Digital Nusantara, and the leaders of Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic, warmly received the visit of the Board of Directors from Kompas Gramedia Group.
The meeting took place in the Function Hall room of Building A UMN; Teddy Suryanto, Chair of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, opened the event with his speech. Teddy said he was delighted and very grateful for the presence of the CEO of Kompas Gramedia, Lilik Oetama, and fellow friends from Kompas Gramedia Group.
“Starting from the mandate of the Founder of Kompas Gramedia, Mr Jakob Oetama, and Mr. P.K. Ojong, Kompas Gramedia Group has a mission to educate and enlightening the society. The values of Kompas Gramedia that we now understand are humanity– humanity with faith. So there is a mission, there are values that become the mandate of the Kompas Group,” Teddy said.
“I am also grateful that UMN, in its 16th year, has carried out that mandate, providing quality education services and works in accordance with the values of Kompas Gramedia. UMN also received recognition for superior accreditation ratings. So, we have also received recognition from the government that this university is a superior university. The government hopes UMN will become a world university, meaning a World Class University,” Teddy concluded.
Ninok Leksono, as Chancellor of Multimedia Nusantara University, also delivered his remarks to all members of the BOD of Kompas Gramedia.
“Having existed for approximately 16 years, with the support, cooperation, and efforts of the staff and employees, UMN has made progress. This is recognized by The Directorate General of Higher Education, UI Green Metric, and several other championships that UMN students has participated. UMN welcomed more international networks, more meetings, which led to more consequences too. I hope Lilik and his entourage will be happy in today’s visit to UMN, thank you,” Ninok said.
The friendly meeting was followed by a brief discussion. Friska Natalia, the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs, conveyed some of the needs for cooperation between UMN and Kompas Gramedia.
“There are several things that UMN needs. The first of which is international recognition, whereby International Accreditations will strengthen relations with the industry. So we need a Real Case Industry and also strengthen Networking in Multinational Companies,” Friska said.
“In 2023, we will have a Mobility Program which will start from June to August for two months. There will be many schemes in this program, such as internships, joint projects, and working on real industry cases,” Friska continued.
“We need help from the BOD of Kompas Gramedia Group. We need Real Case Industry for the cases in courses and projects, and provide opportunities for foreign and national students for Internship programs or real case projects,” Friska concluded.
Lilik Oetama, the CEO of Kompas Gramedia Group, also delivered his remarks during this visit. Lilik said that this BOD visit was a routine activity to tour Kompas Gramedia business units, and UMN is the first business unit visited.
“Conducted at the beginning of each year, it is our routine activity to tour our business units, and this UMN is special, so UMN is chosen as the first place to visit. I agree with the collaboration that will be carried out, because collaborations and synergies are what are needed at this time. Between UMN and KG, let’s see together what can we do to help each other, especially regarding internships, ok?” Lilik said.
“I believe that if we are together, we will be better off and I also believe 2023 will be better. Especially post-pandemic, hopefully, it will be even better.” Lilik said, closing his speech.
