TANGERANG – A total of 141 Visual Communication Design (VCD) Students of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) exhibited their best work in Lobby B. The two-day exhibition is part of the fulfillment of students’ final assignments and features various booths that are interesting and fun to visit.
The event featured four different types of prototypes: Apps, Websites, Board Games, and Non-Digital. Students were free to choose the field that suited their interests and talents, so the works displayed were diverse and innovative.
Fonita Theresia Yoliando, S.Ds., M.A., Chairperson of UMN’s VCD Study Program, explained that students who create this final project using interactive media must follow the existing design method throughout the process.
The process includes research, concept creation, visual creation, user journey map creation, and UI/UX or gamification. At the end of the design process, the study program also applies an A/B Testing process where the digital media created is directly tested on users to test its effectiveness and interactivity.
Some of the interesting works on display include a Digital Game Design on Folklore, a Website on the Development of Modern Indonesian Literature, a Website on Premarital Preparation, a Flashcard Periodic Table of Chemistry, and a Campaign Design on the Importance of Parents’ Role in Maintaining a Learning Environment at Home.

Fonita added that the purpose of this event is to simulate the industry where every design produced should be tested first. “With this Prototype Day, it is hoped that students can get appreciation, recognition, and a real simulation of the professional design industry,” she said.

This event is open to the public and anyone interested in the world of design. During the exhibition activities, students are also asked to collect opinions and suggestions from visitors to develop and improve their work in the future.
VCD UMN is committed to continuing to support and develop the potential of its students through various innovative programs and activities. Thus, it is hoped that UMN’s VCD graduates can become pioneers in the creative industry and contribute to developing art and design in Indonesia.
