November 14, 2016Congratulations on Organizing Student Affairs UMN Gen 7
November 30, 2016Although it has won the first champion of Energy Efficient Building karegori Tropical Building in the ASEAN Energy Award in 2014, New Media Tower is now producing other achievements. In the Real Estate Indonesia (REI) Awards 2016 held on Monday , (28/11) then in Senayan, New Media Tower received the Outstanding Achievement award for the Sustainable Development category.
Andrey Andoko as Vice Rector of UMN who received this award claimed to be proud of the achievements obtained by New Media Tower. “This is a proud achievement because the UMN building can get recognition in various events. If the assessment perspective of the previous event is related to energy utilization only, this time it is assessed from the perspective of property, namely the building as a whole and its utilization,” he said.
Not only that, Andrey also hopes that through these awards received can provide inspiration for UMN students, especially to care more about the environment and energy savings.
“These awards are expected to be an inspiration especially a campus that should be able to be a leader in education about environmentally friendly and energy saving for its students. Basically students should be able to be educated to be more environmentally friendly and energy efficient if the campus also does the same,” he explained again.
New Media Tower building is a building that carries the concept of energy saving applied completely by controlling heat and sunlight entering the room and also minimizing the use of air conditioning. Some of these ways are through heat control using a double skin façade consisting of an inner layer wall and a layer of small perforated aluminum plates as an outer layer. The New Media Tower also has many open spaces that use natural air vents. Thus the room becomes not hot so that the use of air conditioning can be reduced. With this reduction, New Media Tower can reduce electricity consumption by up to 47%.
Not only stopped at the national level, the New Media Tower building was also considered to meet rei qualifications to be nominated as Indonesia’s representative building in the Sustainable Development category in the FIABCI Awards international property event to be held in Andora in 2017.
