Hi friends, actually, when we talk about study time, everyone must have their own optimal learning method and time. Have you ever had a friend who would sleep at night and wake up in the early hours to study? Accompanied by the moon, cold wind, air conditioning or a thin fan, and absolutely zero sound. Or sometimes it’s the complete opposite, whether it be your friend or even yourself, where studying in the morning is preferred.
We need to realize and utilize optimal learning time for the brain to focus on learning and understanding the knowledge or skills learned to the maximum. Here are the recommended five best times to study.
Morning
07.00 to 11.00 is the right time to do productive activities. In these hours, our brain and body are still fresh to start the day. Not much distraction has happened yet, then the light yellow sun enters the window, and the airflow is still fresh. Therefore, when in school, it seemed that the morning lessons taught were easier to understand, and there was still a lot of enthusiasm for learning.
Indeed, at these hours, it is very suitable to be filled with relaxing activities but requires high focus.
Midday
11.00 to 14.30 is the right time to do quite difficult, heavy, or energy-draining tasks. Because, in this period of time, the desire to sleep decreases sharply or simply our bodies have been slightly drowsy, like in the morning.
However, this will not apply if you sleep late. If you lack sleep, you will be prone to sleepiness during the day. So, if you study best during the day, try not to stay up too late.
Afternoon
15.00 to 17.30 is the time span where the body and brain are really in a tired condition because they have been carrying out various activities from morning to noon. Even so, the afternoon can still be used for optimal study time, but with a different method from the morning or afternoon timeframe.
In the afternoon, activities such as discussing with friends or group work while accompanied by jokes, light reading, or slowly starting your work in the outdoor area of the campus or school, which is more open and filled with greenery. By doing so, learning and working can be more relaxing and less stressful.
Evening
18.00 to 21.00 is the best time to re-study or recall the lessons taught and do your assignments given in the morning or afternoon. Because, at this time, our brain still remembers most of what was taught, and by repeating what was learned will help you understand the materials taught. In addition, the outline of the material which will be studied tomorrow can also be studied and read so you can be more prepared for your next class.
However, don’t forget that in the evening, rest your body and mind and don’t sleep too late so that you can study well the next day.
Early Hours
The hours of 01.00 to 04.00 are actually one of the learning times that is quite unique. As previously mentioned briefly, some students prefer learning in the early hours of the morning.
This study time span is perfect for those who want to study in a quiet, peaceful, cold atmosphere, with few distractions, while listening to light introductory music or energetic so that you don’t fall asleep. Even so, studying at this time is quite risky.
To stay awake the whole early hours, some may need to sleep in the afternoon and night, then wake up in the early hours. If you are not used to this pattern, you may fall asleep when studying and risk your assignments being incomplete. However, you could try studying at this time if you enjoy studying in silence.
