Tangerang, (24/8) – The business industry has now started to move into the digital business era. This can be said to have become the new economic model of the world. Even today, the contribution of the digital economy to the economy in the United States has reached 21% or equivalent to four times Indonesia’s GDP.
This was revealed by Achmad Zaky, CEO of Bukalapak.com in his scientific oration at the 2016 UMN Open Senate Session at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) on Wednesday (24/8). He also added that this opportunity must be captured well by students as a young generation of Indonesia. “College is a golden age. Students can be free to work without too much to think about. My message to the younger generation, look at this new trend and make it an opportunity. Opportunity for a career in the field of digital business is very large, “he said.
Not only that, the man who is included in the 10 most influential young entrepreneurs under 30 years old in Southeast Asia also provides tips for success in the digital business world. “The first is to take the time to learn and try all sorts of things. After that, do not hesitate to take risks because through challenge after challenge we will get more knowledge. Finally, find a field that we like so that later when working we can focus and pursue the field wholeheartedly,” zaky said.
UMN 2016 open senate session is an annual tradition to welcome prospective new student UMN and is a top of the series of New Student Orientation (OMB) 2016 activities. Through this event, the new students (MABA) were confirmed to be officially members of UMN. This procession is carried out directly by the rector of UMN and other rectorates to all MABA class of 2016.
In the 2016/2017 school year, the Open Senate Session raised the theme “Young, Independent and Working” in accordance with the theme of OMB 2016. The word young describes new students as a new generation and young people who have high spirits, dare to be different from others, and are wise in making decisions. Merdeka symbolizes students who are independent, do not get carried away without clear arguments, are able to control themselves, have a mind that is always open to change, and dare to voice their opinions. While the work symbolizes students who are able to work not for the sake of self-wealth but also for others, alma mater and homeland. (*)
