JAKARTA – Seeing the continued development of AI technology in supporting the ease of human performance, Master of Technology Management (MMT) students at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) conducted industrial visit activities to PT Microsoft Indonesia and PT Huawei Tech Investment on Monday (31/7).
Twenty-two students, accompanied by lecturers of UMN’s Master of Management Technology (MMT) study program, enthusiastically participated in the industrial visit to discover the development and appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in supporting productivity.
The fear that the development of AI could occupy or destroy human jobs is natural. Through a session with the team from Microsoft, MMT students were introduced to the fact that AI can be a Co-Pilot in our daily lives, simplifying tasks and also giving us more free time because programmed tasks can be completed by AI so that we can be more effective and focus on doing more essential work, not taking over the primary role of humans.

AI is just a “Co-Pilot” in doing our work. The primary control holder and the final result are still in the hands of humans as “Pilots.”
The presence of AI is not to be avoided but to be faced. The same analogy with the calculator, which was feared at the beginning of its existence, currently greatly facilitates human work.
Mr. Prio Utomo, as the Head of the Study Program, responded positively to the first industrial visit conducted by the MMT UMN study program, “Through this industrial visit, students are expected to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from the best, and take advantage of the learning outcomes to have an impact on the development of themselves, companies and directly to a wider audience.”

On the same day, students also visited PT Huawei Tech Investment. There, students were invited to tour the gallery and gain knowledge of the latest innovations and technologies and technology-based solutions owned by Huawei. This adds insight and provides an overview of a world that has to run alongside technological innovation.
This industrial visit is a student learning activity outside the campus. This is the first industrial visit program conducted by UMN’s MMT study program to increase student learning motivation and show the application of industrial automation and technological developments in fields of work that intersect with teaching materials and industrial environments.
