UMN’s Skystar Ventures Officially Starts Batch X Incubation Program

The opening of the Kick-Off event on Friday (10/2/23).

Skystar Ventures UMN officially kicked off the Batch X incubation program with a Kick-Off session on Friday (10/2/2023). Participants were introduced to the Batch X incubation program series of events for the next six months in this session.

“For the next six months or so, we ask all of you to maintain your enthusiasm and commitment because there will be many programs, many activities, many workshops, and mentoring that we organized to help you validate your business ideas,” said the Head of Community and Partnership Skystar Ventures UMN, Cinthya Tania, when opening the Kick-Off event.

“We hope that you will not only create a business for six months, but in the future, the business can be sustainable, be realized, and who knows one day one of your names will become a startup founder,” Cinthya added.

A total of seven teams had the opportunity to develop their business ideas in the Batch X incubation program. Some of these teams are Buka Bisnis, Petzy, A.I for Millennial (AIM), Benevolee, Orion Institute, Youthaful, and Bayarene. 

“Buka Bisnis” is engaged in business development by providing mentors. Meanwhile, “Petzy” is involved in pet services.

On the other hand, “A.I for Millennial (AIM)” is engaged in the robot business for B2B, “Benevolee” is engaged in finding project volunteer services and freelancers, “Orion Institute” is engaged in student self-development, “Youthaful” is engaged in recruitment, and “Bayarene” is engaged in payments. 

The seven teams will then develop their business ideas with the help of various experienced startup practitioners over the next six months. 

What’s unique about this year’s incubation program is that Skystar Ventures UMN involves overseas students as participants for the first time.

Three students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam are participating in this incubation program. At the same time, they are also participating in a student exchange program at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) for six months. The three joined the Buka Bisnis team along with two UMN students.
