JAKARTA – UMN alumni who excelled in the Miss Indonesia 2024 beauty contest, Izabella Nathalie, familiarly called Bella, is an alumnus of Strategic Communication UMN class of 2020. In the beauty contest event held by the Miss Indonesia Foundation (YMI), Bella was successfully nominated for the Top 38 Finalists of Miss Indonesia 2024, representing Central Java.
“Being part of Miss Indonesia has been one of my dreams since childhood. Through Miss Indonesia, I can continue to develop and expand my potential, especially in empowering women in Indonesia. Indeed, it has become one of the concerns that I want to develop for the welfare of the Indonesian people, especially us empowered and independent women,” she said when interviewed on the Miss Indonesia 2024 Final Night Stage at RCTI + studio, MNC Studios Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/5/2024).
Her concern for fellow women has awakened a strong desire in Bella to create a safe environment for women. According to her, being a woman must be empowered and independent in any aspect, including in expressing dreams. ” As women, we should not be afraid to continue to express and achieve,” she said.
Because reaching the Top 38 Finalists of Miss Indonesia 2024 is not easy, many things must be fought for consistently. When the UMN team met her on the final night, Bella expressed gratitude for reaching this stage.
“Because being part of Miss Indonesia is certainly not an easy thing. To represent one province, we have to go through several stages first. Even though we are still part of the 38 finalists, here, we are closely directed, equipped, and given a platform for us to develop with each other,” Bella said.
In fact, not only did she become a Miss Indonesia 2024 Finalist, but in the previous year, Bella also participated in a beauty contest held by the Mega Bintang World Foundation, Miss Mega Bintang 2023, and she reached the Grand Final stage in June 2023.
While studying at UMN, Bella was also one of the active, intelligent, and outstanding students. This was also conveyed by one of UMN’s Communication Science lecturers on her social media account, @lavivrie (Lolita Lavietha, or Mrs. Loli), who mentioned Bella’s account, “My Internship Advise whose work is good and effortless to guide.” Her intelligence in the academic field is unquestionable, and it is also proven by her ability to complete her bachelor’s degree in less than four years. Reportedly, Bella will attend graduation in Period XXVI, June 2024.
Through all of her achievements and accomplishments, Bella further proves that a woman, in addition to being empowered and independent, can excel in the public sphere, which benefits many people, as well as in the private sphere, by being smart and academically active.
In closing, Bella also conveyed her message to UMN students who are still in the process or will soon graduate to continue to be enthusiastic about pursuing their dreams.
“I believe that all of you can achieve all the goals that you really want to achieve if there is an intention to learn and be consistent in pursuing these dreams. Be enthusiastic!” Bella said.
