June 9, 2023MMT UMN received “Excellent” accreditation from BAN-PT on Tuesday (30/05/23).
TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University’s Master of Technology Management Study Program (MMT UMN) received Superior accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi/BAN-PT) on Tuesday (30/05/23). The legality of this accreditation is stated in BAN-PT Executive Board Director Decree No. 2065/SK/BAN-PT/Akred-Itnl/M/V/2023.
“This is a competitive advantage for MMT UMN considering that it is the only MMT study program from a private university in Indonesia that has succeeded in obtaining the “Superior” title in just four years since its establishment in 2019,” said the Dean of the UMN Faculty of Business, Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A.
This Superior accreditation was also obtained in just two months after MMT UMN received international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) on Tuesday (21/03/23). This is a prestigious accreditation by an international accreditation agency based in Germany focusing on higher education in business administration, economics, management, and law.
Through this accreditation, Florentina said that MMT UMN has proven that its learning process is at an international level. She also emphasized the commitment of UMN’s Faculty of Business to continue developing learning innovations, both for the undergraduate and postgraduate educational levels. MMT UMN has organized accelerated classes for undergraduate study programs and opened international certification and double degree programs with universities abroad.
According to the Head of MMT UMN, Dr. Prio Utomo, S.T., MPC, consistency in implementation, improvement, and monitoring is the key to MMT UMN achieving good accreditation results quickly. This achievement does not make MMT UMN less committed to continually improving the quality of their education.
Prio said the commitment will be made through institutional and resource strengthening. One of the realizations is to increase collaboration between students and practitioners from government and industry. In addition, he also revealed that MMT UMN would continue to improve the quality of its research by publishing internationally in accredited journals and working with top global and national universities.
MMT UMN has made efforts to improve the educational ecosystem over the past few years by conducting international lecturer exchanges, industry visits, webinars, and workshops from professional practitioners. The hope is that these efforts will produce MMT UMN graduates who can compete internationally.
“Moreover, we are closely related to technology which continues to develop and innovate from year to year. Therefore, MMT UMN continues to follow the latest trends, adapt to changes, and ensure that the study program remains relevant and of high quality,” Prio explained.
UMN was the first private university to open a Master of Technology Management program in 2019. With a study period of 1.5 years, UMN’s MMT program offers a learning approach that centers on the needs and interests of students. The choice of the final project can also be adjusted to the topic and expertise of each student, namely the Academic Research Project (ARP), Digital Transformation Project (DTP), and New Venture Project (NVP).
