Tangerang—Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) and multinational service firm KPMG signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday (23/04/2025). KPMG is one of the four largest accounting firms in the world, a member of the “Big 4.”
This collaboration is expected to open up future internship or job opportunities for UMN graduates and make UMN one of the campuses trusted to contribute to the sustainability of KPMG’s business, including from students, alumni, and academics.
“It is an honor for UMN to work with KPMG, a public accounting firm among the Big Four. They are also one of our students’ favorites for internships and full-time work,” UMN’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Employability & Entrepreneurship, Ika Yanuarti, said, during the signing ceremony on Wednesday (23/04/2025).
Ika also hopes that this cooperation agreement can open more opportunities for cooperation between UMN and KPMG, not only in recruitment but also in sharing sessions with experienced practitioners.
“We hope the signing of the cooperation agreement between UMN and KPMG can lead to plenty of cooperation. Not only recruitment, but also maybe sharing– knowledge sharing from practitioners from KPMG. They can visit UMN as speakers and provide sessions, debriefing in general in the career world, especially in the business field, or maybe later, there will be a connection with communication. Sharing sessions may also be specifically about accounting,” Ika said.

It is also hoped that this collaboration between UMN and KPMG will open up scholarship opportunities from KPMG, considering that UMN continues to try to accommodate the interests of students interested in participating in scholarship programs.
“There is also cooperation on KPMG scholarships. We welcome this because UMN always wants to find scholarship opportunities from foundations or companies. Because many UMN students are interested in participating in scholarship programs,” said Ika again.
On the same occasion, Head of People KPMG Indonesia Aji Paramartha said that the collaboration between UMN and KPMG is an active step from KPMG to play a role in academia in Indonesia.
“Our relationship with UMN is not new. We also want to propose a cooperation agreement with this university, of course, because we want to increase our network, so that we have a wider network and more frequent contact with each of these universities, so that we can be closer. We want to play an active role in academia in Indonesia,” Aji said.
Aji also said that from KPMG’s side, the company has a special class for universities, PAIS (Introduction to Specific Industry Auditing). The class is elective and intended for students majoring in Accounting.
“So this is an elective class, weighing 3 to 4 credits, where partners and directors from our office teach at universities weekly,” he said.
This cooperation agreement between UMN and KPMG is hoped to be the first step in opening up more opportunities for students and supporting UMN’s efforts to continue accommodating business needs in the field.
