Jamilah wanted to share academic knowledge with UMN students and lecturers in the first meeting. She wanted to share with students how we must be aware of using social media today and communicating on social media.
“Social media plays a crucial role, especially for the younger generation. The communication strategy is to provide information to the younger generation so that they are more aware, think first before speaking and typing,” Jamilah said in the meeting.
So, for her, communication is not just about learning about communication but what is in communication itself. On (02/10), she also held a workshop with communication material discussing “Applied Research Method for Corporate Philanthropy.”
Presentation by Professor. Dr. Jamilah Hj Ahmad, APR, FIPR (02/10). (Doc. UMN)
Corporate Philanthropy is a corporate action that contributes to non-organizations through donations. There are several types of philanthropy, such as donations, volunteering, sponsorship, NGO assistance, etc. She also shared about three important things in Philanthropy Research.
“Philanthropy itself, affinity we want to do research because of love, and the third is capacity, which is an indicator of the fulfillment of the content we do,” Jamilah said in her workshop.
In addition, this Philanthropic Research can help the media solve problems so that people can be critical of it. This research is important because we can measure impact, provide evaluation, or ensure impact in every activity.
