Tangerang—On Tuesday (20/08), UMN warmly welcomed the presence of Jilin International Studies University students. This welcome is part of UMN’s student exchange program. Eight Jilin International Studies University students will study for one year at UMN.
The eight students are Song Jiay, Cheng Chudi, Meng Xinyu, Zhou Xiaoting, Zhuo Xiaochun, Ma Shaoming, Xu Danqi, and Xu Yingai. These students will begin their studies at UMN in August 2024. In addition to learning, they can also be involved in UMN’s UKM and student activities.
“I am happy with the presence of the JISU students. I hope you also enjoy spending time in Indonesia and studying at UMN. Through this program, I hope students will have a positive and fun new experience and be able to relate to students at UMN. Previously, UMN and JISU had also collaborated and JISU wanted a student exchange program, so we are very willing to provide a place and facilities,” said Prof. Dr. Muliawati G. Siswanto, M.Eng.Sc., as the Vice-Rector for Relations and Cooperation.
Prof. Muliawati also said that the student exchange program with international campuses could help UMN become an international university. Muliawati hopes this student exchange program will attract more diverse students to UMN.
“I am happy to be able to participate in a student exchange at UMN. In my opinion, UMN is a very good and modern campus. In addition, UMN is very focused on multimedia and technology. The other things I want to learn are, of course, the Indonesian language and the culture of Indonesia,” said Ma Shaoming, one of the students involved in the student exchange.
The students will take four courses from four learning programs, including Creativity Theory from the VCD study program, Indonesian Language for Communication from the Journalism study program, Human Resources Management from the Management study program, and Energy and Environment from the Engineering Physics study program.
“I was thrilled the first time I went to UMN Campus. From the beginning, I was interested in UMN. The campus is incredible and beautiful, and I really like the UMN buildings. I hope to learn more about art and design through the student exchange. I am also interested in joining the existing student organization,” Song Jiayi said.
