TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) welcomed a field visit for the Training of Trainers (ToT) on climate change aspects for the briefing of energy managers and energy auditors on Friday (7/6/23).
Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had received support from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to implement a greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction program. This program is known as “Towards Indonesia’s Low Carbon Energy Transition Energy Efficiency” (Menuju Transisi Energi Rendah Karbon Indonesia Efisiensi Energi/MENTARI EE).
This training is a part of MENTARI EE. The participants consisted of several energy-related Professional Certification Institutions and ministries. The goal of this activity, which took place from July 5 to July 7, is to increase the capacity of expertise in energy efficiency.
In this training, participants had the opportunity to practice calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory and mitigation at UMN on the last day of the training. The participants and experts from IREEM (Institute for Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Management) also provided suggestions for improving the energy efficiency of UMN buildings.
IREEM Program Manager Unggung Widhiantoro appreciated UMN for accepting the field trip. He said this training could also strengthen participants’ experience as energy managers and auditors.
Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Dr. Eng. Niki Prastomo, S.T., M.Sc., had previously explained UMN’s various commitments towards a green campus. UMN has also pursued various innovations toward sustainability, such as energy saving, waste treatment, and greening. UMN buildings have also won the title of energy-efficient building several times, both nationally and internationally.
