TANGERANG – UMN taekwondo athletes won three gold medals and one silver medal at the Prabu Challenge 6 National Championship (February 26, 2023). Prabu Taekwondo held this competition in collaboration with KONI Banten at the Benteng Taruna Stadium, Tangerang City.
Rasyid Alim Aulia, as the Head of UKM Taekwondo Multimedia Nusantara University, also won a gold medal in the Senior Kyouregi category. Besides Rasyid, Michael Ludovico Palma De Manggut won first place in the same category. Then, Angelica Motto climbed the first podium in the Senior Poomsae category. Furthermore, Naila Asylah Rivitri Lubis received a silver medal in the Senior Poomsae category.
The four UMN taekwondo athletes come from different majors. Rasyid is an Informatics Engineering student, Naila is from Information Systems, Angel is an Architecture major, and Michael is a Journalism student.
There are no restrictions on majors to participate in taekwondo training at UMN. The same applies to other student organizations.
Rasyid said that he has full of hope for UMN’s taekwondo athletes.
“For the future, hopefully there will be more of them and they can all bring gold medals.”
UMN facilitates every student activity. Not only academic but also non-academic. The Sports unit of UMN’s student organizations is one unit that often makes the campus proud. UMN Taekwondo has proven that UMN’s achievements are diverse.
Students interested in taekwondo can join the practice at Multimedia Nusantara University every Tuesday and Thursday at 18.00 WIB. Before joining the training, students are advised to register through the Instagram chat at @taekwondo_umn. Each student will be trained and coached properly so that a champion mentality can be formed.
