The student team came from various majors and classes. Gilbert, the leader of the Leumpang team, shared that they all met through mutual friends. Gilbert and Feli (Management Study Program) is in the same major and often work together; the same goes for Choti and Darren (Informatics Study Program). Dhea (Informatics Study Program) met Choti through a committee event where they had worked together, and Dhea was known to be good at making designs. Plus, Gilbert and Choti were old friends. Hence, they were already familiar with each other’s abilities, and they finally decided to form a team and enter the P2MW competition.
Through an interview with the Leumpang team leader, Gilbert, he explained that Leumpang comes from the Sundanese language, which means “to walk.” The team name “Leumpang” is also related to the business idea brought by the UMN student team.
“So wherever we walk or are, we can hire a photo or videographer service from just one platform,” Gilbert explained. The Leumpang team brought the idea of a platform that unites photography and videography service providers, and whoever’s interested can rent easily through the platform.
After passing the P2MW competition, the Leumpang team hopes that they can immediately realize their ideas and launch the Leumpang platform to the public.
Congratulations to the Leumpang team on this achievement!
