Third Year, UMN Again Provides Scholarships at OSC 2017

January 26, 2018Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) was selected as a partner university program Broadcast Legacy Asian Games 2018. This was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding with INASGOC (Indonesia Asian Games Organize Committee) at INASGOC Headquarters, Wisma Serba Guna, Jakarta on Wednesday (17/1).
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was carried out by UMN Rector Ninok Leksono with INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir and IGBS (International Games Broadcast Services) Project Director Mike Wilmot.
On the occasion, INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir explained that through the broadcast legacy program, students as young Indonesians will get opportunities in developing skills in the field of broadcasting, especially sports broadcasting which continues to grow in line with the rise of the sports industry in the world.
“After 56 years, this is a great opportunity for the younger generation, including students to become part of history by utilizing the 2018 Asian Games to develop their potential in the field of broadcasting,” erick explained.

UMN Rector Ninok Leksono also expressed his pride at the opportunity given by INASGOC and IGBS to universities to play an active role in the 2018 Asian Games according to their respective competencies and expertise.
“We are very proud of this cooperation. Our students can gain experience and contribute expertise in both technical and non-technical fields for the success of the 2018 Asian Games,” ninok said.
Ninok added, during the broadcast legacy program, UMN students will be counted as undergoing an internship program.
“This is a great opportunity. Students who are selected to participate in this legacy broadcast program will be counted as internships. Because UMN students are required to take an internship program as one of the graduation requirements,” concluded Ninok.

INASGOC will net 530 students from ten universities as broadcasting crews during the 2018 Asian Games. Positions available in the technical field, including camera assistant, audio assistant, engineering assistant, loggers, and IBC / engineering. While in the non-technical field, including venue assistant, IBC information assistant, logistics assistant, legacy assistant, and liaison / information.
