April 6, 2022TANGERANG – The Group of Leadership Meeting Foundation and the Leader of Private Universities (Perguruan Tinggi Swasta) in the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XIV Papua and West Papua paid a visit to Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN). The visit was carried out on Friday (18/03/22) to see and learn how Private Universities in LLDIKTI Region III implemented the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM).
During the visit, the LLDIKTI group for Region XIV Papua and West Papua was accompanied by the Head of Administration for Higher Education Service Institutions Region III DKI Jakarta, Norsanty S.Kom.
Norsanty explained that UMN was chosen as a place for comparative studies because, based on the data from the PDDIKTI report, UMN was one of 8 private universities in Jakarta accredited by institution A.
In addition, UMN also carried out many MBKM activities, especially in student exchanges, with an estimation of 497 students.
“We hope that everyone from LLDIKTI XIV can learn how UMN implements MBKM from beginning to end. So when you return to LLDIKTI XIV, you can apply it,” he said.
Based on the recommendation from LLDIKTI Region III, UMN was chosen as one of the private universities in Jakarta that could provide information about the implementation of the MBKM program for LLDIKTI Region XIV.
Dr. Suriel Semuel Mofu, S.Pd., M.Ed. TEFL., M. Phil (Oxon), the Acting Head of LLDIKTI XIV Papua West Papua, explained that before eventually visiting UMN, he sent a letter to the Head of LLDIKTI III, Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P., to request a list of the best universities in Jakarta. Because by visiting the best universities, private universities in the LLDIKTI XIV area can learn directly from the best.
“I read a name, and my eyes fell on Multimedia Nusantara University. I want to visit this university. The name itself is different from the other names on the list. From the name alone, I know this is the future university of Indonesia,” he continued.
Suriel hopes to bring knowledge about what he saw and got during the comparative study at UMN. In addition, it is also expected to build cooperation in the future.
“Let’s build reliable human resources from the eastern horizon of Indonesia. So that by partnering with the best universities in Jakarta, we can lift universities in Papua. In the end, our students will benefit the most and become superior human resources in the future,” he said.
Dr. Ninok Leksono, the Chancellor of UMN, warmly welcomed the presence of LLDIKTI XIV participants to see the implementation of MBKM carried out at UMN.
Ninok hopes that this visit from LLDIKTI XIV can be helpful and that UMN itself can welcome more guests for comparative studies like this.
“We hope that every year those who conduct comparative studies at UMN can return to their homes with something of value, something that can be developed, applied, and shared with colleagues who happened not to be able to attend today,” he continued.
During the visit, it was also explained about the UMN MBKM program, the MBKM system, the implementation of internship MBKM, Entrepreneurship, Student Exchange, internships and independent studies, research, study programs, monitoring & evaluation in study programs, as well as questions and answers.
