TANGERANG – In early March 2023, UMN Library received “Superior” Accreditation from the Directorate of Standardization and Accreditation of The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia/PERPUSNAS RI).
After the National Library of Indonesia Assessor Team had previously conducted visitation related to library accreditation needs, UMN Library was finally officially accredited “Superior” by The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. This accreditation is carried out to ensure the quality of the library itself and to gain recognition of quality and credibility according to the national standards.
After a long preparation for approximately one year, the accreditation obtained was the maximum achievement or accredited “A” and became one of the National Reference Libraries.
“Our library, UMN, has obtained maximum results or ‘A’ accreditation equivalent to Superior.” Said Orisa Mahardhini, the Head of UMN Library.
Even more proudly, this accreditation is the first carried out by UMN, “This is the first time we have accredited the National Library.”
To get this maximum result, Orisa also said that much preparation had been done over the past year. It required help and cooperation from other departments, from the Building Management and HR departments to the Finance departments.
Friska Natalia, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, also expressed her gratitude to the team of Assessors of the Directorate of Standardization and Accreditation of The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, all Study Programs, and all Bureaus that participated in Library accreditation activities to get this proud achievement.
With UMN’s library having been accredited with national excellence by The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, Orisa hopes that UMN’s library can become a reference for all universities in Indonesia so that it is not limited to the Banten area.
In line with Orisa, Friska also expressed her hope for the proud achievement achieved by UMN Library.
“In the future, I also invite students, lecturers, and the entire academic community to continue to make maximum use of the library and invite the entire community to utilize the UMN library,” Friska concluded.
Once again, congratulations to the UMN Library for getting the “A” Accreditation. Hopefully, it can continue to innovate for the entire Academic Community!
