April 8, 2022TANGERANG – This year is UMN’s first opportunity to be involved in the 2022 National Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program. As one of the participants, UMN was invited to attend a coordination meeting at the University of Palangka Raya on Tuesday (29/3) and a direct visit to Kapuas Regency and Pulang Pisau Regency on Wednesday (30/3).
Andy Firmansyah, the UMN Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) staff, said that this visit was helpful as a communication forum between the university and the organizers. In addition, direct visits to KKN locations are also an opportunity for observation to find solutions and develop the potential goals to be achieved later.
“This program is an opportunity for UMN to collaborate with the public and private universities in developing a food estate program in Central Kalimantan. Also to expand connections between universities to foster collaboration in the fields of research, community service, and innovation,” Andy explained.
In line with that, Aswin Usup, the Chair of the 2022-2023 National Community Service Communication Forum, revealed that this program would help students form new relationships. He also hopes that students can become intellectual actors when carrying out their duties at the 2022 National Community Service Program.

“This experience can be an inspiration for students when they lead the nation’s future,” Aswin continued.
This time, the 2022 National Community Service Program conducted a theme about developing food barns in Central Kalimantan. According to Hasrullah, the National Community Service Program initiator, the topic of this year’s Community Service Program can encourage the realization of food security.
Related to that, Andy said UMN would make a smart farming system for rice farming in Central Kalimantan. This program will involve five UMN students from different study programs and two field supervisors.
