Tangerang – UMN held a public lecture attended by nine speakers as one of the lessons in the Social Project course on (15/09). Attended by 270 students, this Social Project is carried out to encourage students to impact the future.
UMN’s Faculty of Art and Design held a public lecture in the Social Project course. This public lecture was held on (15/09). At UMN, which was attended by students who took the social project course, this course was made to solve problems using SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). So that students will be more responsible and hone their skills.
This social project is intended so students can create projects that impact society according to the SDGs, whether organizations, social enterprises, NGOs, or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs. So that students are expected to produce outputs that have an impact on the environment, society, or economy.
This public lecture was attended by nine speakers, namely, the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation, Dimas Bagus Arya Saputra from Kontras, Olin Monteiro from Peace Woman Across the Globe Indonesia (Arts for Women), Amin Shaban from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission, Diky from Saya Pilih Bumi (Kompas Grid Network), M Syarifullah from Kehati, Ms. Rina Kusuma Ashoka, M Hafizh Nabiyyin from SafeNet, and Lucyana H Siregar from Koperasi Kasih Indonesia.
Each resource person certainly has a different vision and mission for their organization, such as the Ashoka institution, which has a mission as a changemaker– making something different and innovative but still having a good impact.
“If in the world there are no changemakers or making changes, we will not be able to adapt,” Said Rina Kusuma, a resource person from Ashoka.
As for the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation, they have a mission to help those in need economically, marginally, and legally. So that the law is not sharp below and blunt above.
The Cooperative Love Institute also wants to advance financially and economically, where this institution aims to help economically disadvantaged households.
“Our institution has a mission to help those in need, and encourage people not to be consumptive but to manage money productively,” Lucyana said, a resource person for Koperasi Kasih Indonesia.
This social project course aims to encourage students to continue to work and innovate but still work that is sustainable and can help many people.
