Bacolod, Philippines – UMN continues to collaborate with international universities, and on this occasion, UMN collaborated with the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos. The inauguration of this collaboration was held on Friday (07/03/2025)and attended by Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA, UMN’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Agnes C. Sequiño, PhD, the Director of the Office of International Affairs, and other UNO-R officials.
The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) is a university in the Philippines that has been established since 1941. UNO-R is currently a symbol of quality and excellence, and with a vision and mission committed to education and character development, it is expected to produce good graduates.
“UNO-R invited UMN to collaborate because they are interested in UMN. This is certainly a good opportunity for UMN to increase university cooperation in Asia,” Ika said.
During the meeting, UMN and UNO-R discussed several important collaborations. The closest collaboration will be a six-month student exchange between the two campuses for undergraduate and graduate students.
“Other collaboration discussions are lecturer exchanges from each faculty, joint research between the two campuses to increase publications, student mobility programs, and journal reviews. In addition, we also have several other non-academic collaborations, such as joint competitions between the two countries or other student activities such as business ideas,” Ika continued.
Ika hopes that this collaboration will allow the two campuses to develop together and that it can be implemented soon, in the following semester.
