UMN Green Building Concept for Teaching Bandung Private Universities

TANGERANG – A total of 180 students of the architecture study program of the National Institute of Technology (Itenas) Bandung made a study visit to Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) on Tuesday (19/11). The visit was conducted to learn the concept of green building in the tropics applied by UMN.

On the occasion, Lecturer Coordinator of Design Studio 6 ITENAS Ardhiana Muhsin said that his party’s visit was to provide a direct picture to students, so that they better understand and understand the concept of the theory conveyed.

“We are looking for the most appropriate, most unique and up-to-date examples of buildings for students to study. If the building is still new, the issue and concept are still responsive compared to old buildings,” ardhiana said.

In addition to being considered unique, the awards received by UMN in the field of energy saving and green campuses are also considered for their study visits to UMN. For example, UMN won the 1st Runner Up Energy Efficient Building ASEAN Energy Award in the Tropical Building category in September 2019 in Bangkok Thailand.

The concept of green building applied in UMN itself aims to create buildings that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient, namely by making efficiency in the use of building materials, energy and water.

Umn Architecture Study Program Chairman Hendrico Firzandy revealed that UMN was assessed to meet the criteria needed by Itenas in studying Building Physics.

“They (Itenas) visited UMN related to the task of building physics courses. They themselves chose UMN because we are judged to meet all the criteria they need to learn,” Hendrico concluded. (ICT/CRA)
