TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University had the opportunity to provide training for 30 Abang None Jakarta Barat 2023 finalists at the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Monday (26/6).
Personal branding is absolute and essential for Abang None Jakarta. Not only as tourism ambassadors, they will also represent the “face” of Jakarta. UMN Master of Communication Science lecturer, Dr. Dian Agustine Nuriman, M.Ikom. IAPR. also gave tips on building personal branding on social media.
According to Dian, many things need to be considered in building a self-image on social media. Moreover, she said that each social media has its target audience.
Therefore, recognizing the intended audience is one of the effective ways. This will then determine the content concept and the language selection that will be displayed on social media.
“What do these friends want to be known as? For example, what are their hobbies and where are their achievements? This is talking about how to utilize social media for Abang None,” said Dian, also the Head of Communication Training at Perhumas Indonesia.

Through the title of Abang None Jakarta Barat 2023, Dian said that the finalists should no longer carelessly upload things on social media. She advised them to maintain their self-image but also to still be themselves.
In addition, Dian revealed that consistency and experimentation are also the most effective ways to build social media. Dian also advised the finalists to collaborate with many people. She believes that those who do not collaborate will “die.”
“Now is not the time to be alone. Now is the time to embrace others and share,” Dian said.
This training is a form of collaboration between UMN and Abang None West Jakarta. Through this collaboration, UMN will also provide scholarships for postgraduate studies (Masters) at UMN to the winners of Abang None. This scholarship is in the form of discounted tuition fees, both in UMN’s Master of Technology Management Program and UMN’s Master of Communication Science Program.
“The first winner of Abang None West Jakarta 2023 gets 60 percent, the second winner gets 50 percent, the third winner gets 40 percent. Then, the first to third runner-up will get a 30 percent discount on tuition fees,” explained UMN Master Program Education Consultant Sorta Yocevina.
