Two lecturers of Communication Science Distance Learning (Pelajaran Jarak Jauh/PJJ) Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN), Chininta Rizka Angelia and Silvanus Alvin, became presenters in the Training for the Establishment of Functional Position of Expert Level Public Relations Officer Batch II 2023. The training was held at the Education and Training Center of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Jakarta. The event involved 30 public relations participants from the Ministry of Religious Affairs throughout Indonesia.
“It feels good to have the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with friends of the Public Relations Officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Hopefully, this training can be useful and can be applied in their respective institutions,” Chininta said.
Chininta, who also serves as the Secretary of the UMN Communication Science Distance Learning Study Program, presented material related to the Macro Context of Public Relations, which discusses Indonesia’s socioeconomic, political, and cultural issues. In addition, she also discussed the efficient communication system and community activism that affects the dynamics of government public relations.
Meanwhile, Alvin provided material on Government Public Relations Media Management. In this material, public relations officers are expected to recognize renewable technology that can support their performance.
“One of the technologies taught to the public relations of the Ministry of Religion is related to listening tools on social media. Publicists are invited to find out the positive or negative sentiment, and also related to the current media digitization,” Alvin said.
