In his speech, Ninok explained that apart from working together on electric cars, it is hoped that they can also contribute to producing much-needed electrical engineers.
“This collaboration between UMN and ITPLN can be realized, and the MoU should not end on paper so that the commitment to renewable electricity can be realized. I want this program to be able to produce innovation, develop engineering, and engineering personnel,” Ninok said.
Likewise, Iwa’s speech states that the energy transformation that is happening in the world today requires readiness to anticipate industrial challenges in the future. In addition, electric vehicles are a challenge to be produced domestically.
“Another challenge is that we see electric vehicles as one of the markets so that UMN and ITPLN are ready to compete in the industry,” he continued. He also added that this collaboration should be able to prepare future experts and raw materials needed to develop industrial needs.
“Because we don’t just build our own products, we also want the public to be interested in building electric vehicles,” Iwa said.
After the presentation and explanation of the ITPLN electric vehicle and discussion session, it was followed by a visit to the electric vehicle showroom to gain insight into electric vehicles and a visit to the PLTU Mini Laboratory, Waste to Energy Center, and the PLTS Laboratory owned by ITPLN.
