“This collaboration is a good opportunity for us, especially for the Faculty of Communication and Journalism Study Program. Sometimes we are left behind. So, I hope this collaboration can be stronger and more intensive,” Rismi Juliadi said.
For Rismi, collaboration with the industry is an important. It opens the opportunity to explore new phenomena that occur from a journalistic perspective. Rismi also hopes that through this collaboration, many UMN students can land internships at Suara.com.
“We have always wanted to collaborate with UMN. Previously, there were quite a lot of collaborations that have been carried out with the UMN students. Of course, with the inauguration of this collaboration, we can engage with and invite more students to work according to industry standards,” Suwarjono, Editor in Chief of Suara.com, said.
Suwarjono also hopes that this collaboration will provide many benefits especially in regards to the changing of the journalistic business model. He hope more new interesting ideas can be produced. According to Suwarjono, this collaboration is important considering the disruption that changes every year, month, and even week. There are dynamic changes in platforms and content.
“In line with UMN’s current focus, Suara.com also pays attention to the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and sustainability. The changes in dynamic require us to continue to learn about AI and sustainability; we ourselves have conducted a green local media program as a form of our attention to sustainability,” Suwarjono continued.
UMN and Suara.com hope that this collaboration can be realized soon as institutions need to continuously improve while remaining sustainable. It is hoped that this collaboration can also support the research of UMN lecturers and students.
