May 5, 2015In the era of new media as it is today, the community, not least students have a wide choice of information sources. For students, online media is the most accessible mass media channel because it is free of charge and can be accessed anywhere and anytime. Seeing these needs, ULTIMAGZ magazine which was established since 2007 under the auspices of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN), Kompas Gramedia developed an online news portal ULTIMAGZ.com.
“In accordance with UMN’s vision, which is to excel in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), we are bringing Ultimagz forward towards new media by being more dynamic, fast, sharp, and familiar with students,” said Ghina Ghaliya, Managing Editor of Ultimagz.com.
Along with the rebranding in December 2014 by the three-time campus magazine The Best of Java Magazines Indonesia Student Print Media Awards (ISPRIMA) from the Press Company Union, ULTIMAGZ.com which has been launched since 2013 now comes with a new look and character that excels in terms of visuals.
The rebranding process that has been carried out by ULTIMAGZ is solely done for the sake of quality improvement and product optimization. With the design and addition of several new features on the website ULTIMAGZ.com, of course, it is expected that umn campus media will increasingly get a place in the hearts of readers, namely the UMN academic community.
In the news web ULTIMAGZ.com there are several rubrics that are closely related to students, including campus info rubrics that provide the latest information about matters related to umn campus, events rubric that presents the latest news about various interesting events, ranging from music concerts, seminars, exhibitions, sports, and so on off campus. Not only that, there is also rubric Review, Science, Automotive, Sports, Sightseeing, and the latest is the Lifestyle rubric that presents a variety of unique and interesting information and exciting tips like students.
In addition to presenting a new rubric and a new look that is mobile-friendly, ULTIMAGZ.com also supports UMN students to be able to be highly competent in the field of journalism, namely by opening wide contributor opportunities for UMN Communication Science students to participate in producing journalistic work through online-based daily news portals.
“Through this rebranding, we also want all ILKOM UMN students to work even though they are not members of the ministry. Student journalistic work should be enjoyed by a wider audience. Later, the work will be a separate experience for young journalists so that their work will no longer be something that is stored alone,” said Ghina.
Come on, love the campus as well as working with ULTIMAGZ! (*)
