UMN and UNPAR Collaborate in the Development of Tri Dharma and Independent Campus Program

June 23, 2022TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) and Indonesia Computer University (UNIKOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a collaboration that focuses on the Merdeka Learning-Independent Campus (Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka/MBKM) program, research, and community service. Each party had previously signed this MoU, and they held a meeting to meet each other online via Zoom on Wednesday (8/6/2022).
Dr. Ninok Leksono, M.A., UMN’s Chancellor, explained that this collaboration was carried out to develop the young generation of Indonesians to be intelligent, educated, and virtuous. In addition, UMN also wants to learn various things from UNIKOM, such as robotics, opening new study programs, implementing distance education, and developing an independent campus.
“Hopefully, this collaboration will not stop at the paper we signed but will be realized in steps and contributions to science and technology. We are trusted to produce creative economy talents which will contribute greatly to the economic transformation from a natural resource economy to a knowledge base,” he continued.
According to the Director of the Institute for Research and Community Service (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat/LPPM UMN), Dr. Ir. P. M. Winarno, M. Kom., from this collaboration, especially with LPPM UNIKOM research partners, they can collaborate in community service research.
“We also conduct seminars in the field of community service, namely the National CSR PKM Conference which has been running for 7 years. Collaborating with other universities in various cities and it is planned that this year, the seminar will be held in Medan. We hope that LPPM UNIKOM can join the event,” he said.
Regarding this collaboration, the Chancellor of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, MT., hopes they can bridge the Merdeka Campus program, which both campuses are doing, and build synergy between the two universities.
“Through this collaboration, we can also build collaborations in the field of research. So, every year, UNIKOM holds ICOBEST related to non-exact science conferences and INCITES conferences related to exact science groups,” he continued.
This meeting was held to convey this collaboration’s purpose and introduce each other to each study program. Other present representatives were each university’s vice-chancellors, deans, and head of study programs. All representatives had the chance to introduce themselves and share their hopes and ambitions for this collaboration.
