August 17, 2022Tangerang – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) and a team of professors from Silla University, Busan, South Korea, held a joint promotion day event to promote the living lab and smart village project.
Held at the UMN campus on Monday (08/08/22), the promotion day conducted a series of forum meetings to promote the living lab and smart village project. The event was attended by several UMN leaders: Ir. Andrey Andoko M.Sc. (Vice Chancellor for General Administration & Finance) and Dr. Ir. P. M. Winarno, M. Kom, (Director of the Institute for Research and Community Service).
In addition to UMN representatives, a team of professors from Silla University, Pradita University, Summarecon and Paramount Serpong developers were also present. Three major themes focused on the event’s agenda: living lab, smart city, and smart village.
In his presentation, Professor Cheulwoo from Silla University explained that living labs are an innovative ecosystem that focuses on co-creation, prototyping, rapid testing, and improvement of innovation, business, and operating as an intermediary between citizens, research organizations, companies, and government agencies. He also added that the ecosystem of living labs must be sustainable. It will take time and will be influenced by several factors:
- Partners = Gojek, Hyundai Motors, Skystar Ventures.
- Members = KSU_4IRTC, UMN, KOSA, KOICA, and Skystar Ventures.
- Operators = students, community, and volunteers.
- Role model = ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs).
- Collaboration = startups, skystar ventures, CONMEDIA conference, and the government.
From this living labs project centered at UMN, the final target is to raise awareness and introduce the public to smart city innovation through the Tangerang Network Of Living Labs (TNoLL), which opens up opportunities for business and research collaboration.
Dr. Winarno then continued the presentation on smart villages. There are three main discussions: smart governance, which involves more efficient/uncomplicated public services, smart bureaucracy and public policy, which focuses on effective bureaucratic management and efficiency of public policy.
“I hope that through today’s initiation, our TNoLL living labs ecosystem will continue to advance and develop. I am also happy to be working with all of you and also hope that everyone here can join TNoLL,” Professor Cheulwoo concluded.
