TANGERANG – The Talent Scouting Academy (TSA) training program themed “Basic Data Science with Interactive Modules in 2023” was officially opened at the UMN Function Hall, Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday (14/2/23).
This training program is a collaboration between UMN, Padang Institute of Technology, National University Jakarta, and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika/Kominfo). Broadly speaking, the TSA program allows students to improve their digital skills.
UMN is one of the universities that routinely participates in this program, and there are even many enthusiasts. UMN Rector Dr. Ninok Leksono said that more than 200 UMN students participated in the TSA training program themed on data science.
“The campus tries their best to facilitate and provide opportunities for students to join programs that align with the needs of the world of work,” said Ninok.

It is no longer a new conversation; data science has become one of the basic needs in the digital transformation era. According to Ninok, data that can be processed and appropriately interpreted can benefit the public.
In line with that, Anton Susanto, as the Chief Executive of TSA, revealed that data science skills would be very much needed. The impact is not only for industrial and business needs but also for the social environment.
Anton said the data science training, attended by hundreds of participants, will last approximately five months. The training, which is also present to support the Merdeka Learning Independent Campus program, will use the credits conversion system.
Furthermore, the Head of the Center for Professional Development and Certification of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dr. Ir. Hedi M. Idris, M.Sc., hopes that the TSA program will be able to produce Indonesia’s best talents. This is also an effort to prepare resilience to face change.
“This activity is the beginning of preparing our human resources,” said Idris.
