December 31, 2021TANGERANG – Entering its 15th year, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has made another achievement. On December 21, 2021, UMN received an “A” grade from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi/BAN-PT).
This decision is written based on a decree with the number 1068/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/PT/XII/2021. Accreditation in higher education is crucial because it assesses a university’s eligibility level.
Ninok Leksono, Rector of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, expressed his gratitude for the success of achieving the “A” accreditation again and thanked the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education for trusting UMN to maintain this highest level of accreditation. On the other hand, the A accreditation is also a mandate to continue to perform and excel.
The satisfaction doesn’t end with the current achievement. Ninok also explained that the next challenge is to excel not only at the national level but also internationally.
“The target of World-Class University is one of the hopes for the future. This certainly needs to be accompanied by various improvements on various sides, especially those related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely in terms of education and teaching, research, and community service. Human resource capability is certainly the main focus in addition to physical infrastructure. UMN must also make its presence felt by the community and the nation,” Ninok said.
“The ‘A’ accreditation is the starting point for achieving international accreditation, which also means bringing UMN as an international class university. The challenges are not light, especially amid disruption in various fields. But UMN is determined to respond to these challenges to reach a higher level,” concluded Ninok.

Friska Natalia, Vice Rector II, explained that several strategies are used to maintain accreditation at UMN.
“The internal audit that is carried out every year is a form of UMN’s special strategy to maintain the ‘A’ accreditation that has been achieved in previous years. This strategy is implemented because we believe that by continuously evaluating and examining the entire work process, UMN can identify existing problems and immediately fix them. That way, the quality of work in UMN can always be maintained every year. But the input taken by UMN is not only from the routine internal audit process, but also from AUN-QA (Asean University Network-Quality Assurance) and IABEE (Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education) during the accreditation process of several study programs in UMN,” Friska said.
Friska also added that the future achievement focus for UMN will be on the World Class University. “Following the roadmap that we already have, we are preparing UMN to become a world-class university that can create graduates who are able to compete globally with other international universities. In 2022 and in the future, we will focus more on international accreditation for all study programs in UMN and also institutional recognition at the international level,” Friska concluded.
