September 21, 2022TANGERANG – The 2019 UMN Accounting Study Program student team won 1st place in the Udayana Accounting Days: Break The Capacity, Explore Your Ability, Sunday (7/8).
They are Anastasya Citta Dewi, Stefanie Evetania Widjaja, and Olivia. The student trio from the UMN Accounting Study Program were both happy and, at the same time, not expecting to reach this stage.
“Udayana is a State University with a good reputation, so there are many registrants for competitions. We also didn’t expect to get the first place out of 162 teams from other well-known universities,” Stefanie said.
Quoting the @uadfebunud account, the competition held by Udayana University carries two categories of competitions. One of them was the National Accounting Competition (NACTION) which was participated in by a team of UMN students and students throughout Indonesia. They have also participated in the preliminary stages since July 8, 2022.
This competition is intended as a means for students to apply the knowledge gained during lectures. Stefanie said the accounting concept is an important aspect as the basis for facing this competition. According to her, a good understanding of the concept will facilitate its application and analysis in various cases.
Not only that, accounting calculations, critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills are also essential provisions. Stefanie and the team also said that UMN supported their understanding of these aspects.
“UMN is very good at training and teaching Accounting students. As we understood the concept, we only needed to review at the time for the competition. There’s no need to study the details anymore,” Stefanie explained.
On the other hand, Stefanie also encourages UMN students to be confident and not to be afraid to try. She and her team admitted that they were fearful of failure. However, in the end, failure is seen as learning, so it never hurts to try.
“Win or lose; there’s nothing wrong with trying,” Stefanie said.
