September 19, 2022TANGERANG – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia visited Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) on Thursday (01/09/22) after almost three years of meeting online.
This visit was carried out through the Asia International Community of Art & Design (AICAD) Tour Committee. AICAD is an art and design community in the Asian region under UiTM Malaysia. The annual event focuses on issues in the global art and design community. UMN is known to be a member of AICAD.
On this occasion, UMN and UiTM again sharpened and widened opportunities for future collaborations. Since 2020, UMN and UiTM have committed to various partnerships, from research to student and lecturer exchanges.
The Head of the UMN Visual Communication Design (VCD) Study Program, Fonita Theresia Yoliando, also plans to conduct a lecturer exchange with UiTM this semester. In addition, she also hopes to collaborate with UiTM through research and organizing international events.
One form of the event is the UMN Curriculum which has been held annually since 2016. The UMN Curriculum is a UMN VCD Study Program event organized by students specializing in Interactive Media Design (IMD) and of international standards.
“The collaboration will be discussed further. Not only education but also research [and] the Student Creativity Program projects, which are independent projects,” Fonita said.
Besides Fonita representing VCD of UMN, this visit was also attended by representatives of the UMN Architecture Study Program and UMN Film Study Program. AICAD’s visit also opened up opportunities for further collaboration between the two study programs.
In addition to discussing collaboration opportunities, the arrival of UiTM Malaysia this time was also followed by a knowledge-sharing session by UiTM to UMN students. One of them is implemented in the Drawing Principles course.
