“How to complete my thesis in 1 week.” This is one of the popular questions when typing “how to complete thesis” in the Google search engine. For final-semester students, the anxiety and worry of working on your thesis will definitely start to increase. Doing your thesis looks scary and challenging, but it is more than possible to finish it on time. Let’s look at the various tips on doing your thesis so that your thesis can be completed quickly.
Start thinking about your thesis before it’s time to do your thesis
This first thesis tip is for students in the middle of the semester. It would be better if you already have an idea of what thesis topic you want to take or what you want to research long before it’s time to work on your thesis.
So, later, during the Seminar Proposal course, all you have to do is discuss your research ideas with your lecturer and finalize your research ideas. You wouldn’t want to still ponder about your research topic when it’s time to do your thesis.

Put your interest in your research
Are you interested in environmental issues? You can research matters related to environmental issues according to your major. Doing this will motivate you to work on your thesis with more intent. Plus, we tend to understand or even master something we like. Researching something related to your interests will help you feel more confident when working on your thesis.
Finalize your thesis topic in the proposal seminar class
At Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN), students will be asked to work on their research proposal from Chapters I – III research proposal in the Seminar Proposal class. So, students can use this opportunity to finalize their research so that later during their thesis, all that remains is to execute the research. Who knows, you might be able to register directly for the thesis defense in the first batch.
Diligently read research and journals
Your lecturer must have often said this, but this is very helpful in working on a thesis and must be done for any of you who are doing your thesis. Take your time to read various national and international research. By doing this, you will master the topic you are raising, help determine research gaps, have the opportunity to discover new theories or concepts, and even inspire you to research a topic.
Apart from reading journals, you can also read articles on the topic you want to research. For example, you are researching an issue regarding climate change, and you can read various articles about climate change. This will help you find the latest information about the issue or topic you are taking.
Do plenty of discussions with your thesis advisor
Be diligent about discussing with your thesis advisor, and don’t be shy to ask questions. Discuss with your advisor whether the theory you are using is suitable, whether your research method is appropriate, and so on. You can also discuss your research with your friends. Doing lots of discussions can help you identify which parts of your thesis still need improvement and if there are any errors.
But don’t completely rely on your advisor either, ok? You have to be independent and actively look for answers, whether on the internet or in books. Don’t hesitate to try to contact other researchers and ask questions!
Don’t delay writing your thesis
There is no need to rush or aim to finish your thesis in a month. The important thing is that you consistently spend your time working on your thesis. Don’t let yourself get to a point where you’ll speed through your thesis in the last month or week before it’s time for the thesis defense’s last batch.
