The Polish Embassy visited UMN on (31/10). During this visit, UMN initiated cooperation with the Polish Embassy in education. In addition to visiting UMN, the Polish Embassy also attended the IMOVICCON 2023 event.
They are interested in film, animation, and design, which are humanities, both in terms of the process and the results of the film itself. Baeta also feels that Poland has a good and developed art in film, so she thinks IMOVICCON is a good conference.
Several representatives from UMN also discussed with the Polish Embassy on the same day, namely Friska Natalia S.Kom., MT, the vice-rector for academic affairs, Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA, vice-rector for student affairs, Prof. Dr. Muliawati G. Siswanto, M.Eng.Sc, vice-rector for relations, Dr. Ir. P. M. Winarno, M.Kom as chairman of LPPM, and Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, S.Sn., M.Ds, as head of the Art and Design Study Program.
UMN has an initiation to cooperate in the field of education and provides a pathway for UMN to cooperate with campuses in Poland. UMN is very open and wants to cooperate in student exchanges, lecturer exchanges, visiting professors, joint research, film screening, internships, scholarships, and other academic activities.
“The goal of UMN is to expand collaboration with foreign campuses and increase research. We hope to be able to collaborate in the fields of film, art and education,” said Friska in her discussion.
The Polish Embassy also agreed with this collaboration, as they themselves want to attract more students from Indonesia to join their scholarships. They have also implemented this and opened scholarships for students openly.
“We aim to attract students in Indonesia to study in Poland, and we think education is our top priority. We have international scholarship offers for next year; no need to be fluent in Polish because the main language used is English”, said Baeta in the discussion.
The Polish Embassy also invited UMN to the Education Expo of Polish campuses so that this can open communication channels between UMN and campuses in Poland.
