The Study Programs at the Faculty of Communication, UMN
To this date, the Faculty of Communication at UMN has three study programs: Bachelor of Strategic Communication, Bachelor of Strategic Communication (Distance Learning), Bachelor of Digital Journalism, and Master of Communication. UMN itself educates students with adequate technology and experienced lecturers in their fields. The UMN Faculty of Communications curriculum will also give students experience working in real industries, be it journalism, public relations, or advertising, with various project-based assignments.
UMN Strategic Communications
Strategic communication studies all forms of communication related to businesses, brands, and companies. Within the framework of communication science, the Strategic Communication study program does not only study communication between two people but also the communication carried out by companies or brands.

UMN Strategic Communication is one of the Undergraduate Study Programs at the Faculty of Communication of UMN, aiming to produce graduates with internglobalht. In addition, students are expected to master the practice and theory in the field of Corporate Communication and Marketing Communication.
UMN Digital Journalism
Journalism is a science that teaches how to produce content based on facts presented on various platforms. Students of the Journalism Study Program will study all forms of journalism (whether written, audio, visual, or broadcast), from planning, production, and broadcasting/publishing to monitoring content on social media.
The Journalism Study Program at Multimedia Nusantara University focuses on using new technologies to study new forms of journalism. Therefore, learning activities are also supported by appropriate technology. Some courses are also adapted to the needs of industry and existing technological developments, such as the Mobile and Social Media Journalism course, which uses gadgets to produce products and distribute them through social media.
“During my studies majoring in Journalism at UMN, all the subjects taught helped me understand the basics in building knowledge for later when we enter the media industry. In addition, I also feel that UMN educates their students to be able to adapt and communicate in various life aspects, which is certainly very useful for me to apply in my current world of work,” said David Caessarre, Creative Officer of Narasi TV, on the UMN Journalism page.
Master of Communications at UMN
The Master of Communication Study Program combines scientific and practical perspectives to prepare graduates to interpret and solve various strategic communication problems in marketing communications and corporate communications.
The study program emphasizes the ability to anticipate turmoil due to digital transformation that impacts industry and society. From an academic point of view, this study program is designed to provide a solid understanding of the theories, principles, concepts, and research methods in the strategic communication field. This is because the growing role of specialists increasingly requires mastery of advanced strategic knowledge rather than mere operational skills.
Accordingly, this study program offers two concentrations, namely:
- Digital Corporate Communication
- Digital Marketing Communication
