Hi, UMN friends! Are you planning on continuing your studies but still unsure what major you want to take? Don’t worry! This article will provide recommendations for social studies majors that you might consider or suit your interests. You can also consider the majors below for those interested in studies other than Social Studies.
1. Majoring in Journalism/Broadcasting
The first social study major you could consider is journalism/broadcasting. This department focuses on creating content that the public can enjoy.
The Journalism Study Program aims to produce graduates who can work as multi-platform journalists, multimedia content producers, and researchers in the field of converged journalism. Through direct experience-based learning methods, students are invited to explore new forms of journalism, such as virtual reality journalism, augmented reality journalism, data journalism, drone journalism, visual journalism, mobile journalism, and others.
2. Communication Department

Next on the list is a major in communication science. As the name implies, of course, this department studies and explores the study of communication, from various kinds of theory to practice.
