October 28, 2021TANGERANG – Ultigraph UMN 2021, an activity held every two years by students of UMN Visual Communication Design Study Program, again held various seminars and workshops. “How to Start Your Own Business in The Creative Industry” became one of a series of workshops held virtually on Tuesday afternoon (10/26/21). Ultigraph UMN invited the Co-founder and COO at Bartega Studio, Nadia Daniella and Professional Illustrator, Painter, and Content Creator at Bartega Studio, Marry.
Through this workshop, they also shared ways to build a business in the creative industry. Not only that, they also lay out ways to build personal branding.
“So, our desire, can make the business is not limited to making the company, but also develop personal branding that is identical to your respective personal style,” said Nadia.
As Co-founder and COO at Bartega Studio, Nadia explains the first tip for starting a business is to start from the smallest thing. Although initially there are various limitations, he encourages the audience not to be afraid to start working. Nadia believes everything must have its own challenges. Therefore, he reminded to always enjoy every moment and trust the process.
“Step by step anyway, just like painting there is already a picture of the actual mission vision, but when painting yes enjoy aja moment by moment. No need to mikirin in the future this will be as big as what, “continued Nadia.
In addition, there is also Marry who shares tips on building personal branding for yourself. He said it’s important to recognize yourself in building business and personal branding. This understanding is also useful so that we know how to behave to ourselves and to others with diverse personalities. In this workshop, Marry also shared her practical tips for recognizing yourself, namely through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and IKIGAI tests.

Furthermore, Marry says one way to recognize yourself is to continue exploring. According to him, there are no bad works or ideas. However, all of these works have their own character and uniqueness. Therefore, he said there is no need to be afraid to make work and explore.
“Now it’s nothing good and bad. So, don’t be afraid to be said to be ugly or said not good. You stay consistent,” Marry said.
In addition, Nadia and Marry also said that there will be a stage where we definitely feel like giving up on continuing the existing business. In this regard, they also share tips to stay consistent. First, they say to always take care of themselves first, both physically and mentally. The next tip, we can also do journaling and find a community that can be a support system.
