TANGERANG – UMN’s Accounting Study Program has achieved International Accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) 2023. This achievement will further open opportunities for students to have a global career.
The Head of UMN’s Accounting Study Program, Stefanus Ariyanto, S.E, M.Ak., CPSAK, CA, said that UMN has been applying for this curriculum accreditation since 2022. This is done by reviewing the suitability of the UMN Accounting Study Program curriculum with the provisions of the ICAEW professional certification.
“The UMN Accounting Study Program curriculum is prepared based on Outcome Based Education which prioritizes the achievement of graduate learning (Expected Learning Outcome), which has adopted the entry-level needs for the accounting profession nationally and internationally,” Ariyanto explained.
Previously, UMN’s Accounting Study Program had also received the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) International Accreditation in 2022. This accreditation is a recognition of the Bachelor of Accounting (BoA) Program that has met and can be equated with similar educational programs internationally.
These various international achievements also encourage UMN Accounting students to think globally to get international professional degrees. Hopefully, Ariyanto said that graduates of UMN’s Accounting Study Program can develop their careers at the international level in accordance with UMN’s development direction towards a World Class University.
In addition to receiving international accreditation, two people from UMN also received the highest score award for CFAB-ICAEW certification. They are active students of UMN’s Accounting Study Program, Windy Sharen, and alumni of UMN’s Accounting Study Program, Lydia Fransiska. This international certification is limited, with only 20 students selected from all over Indonesia.
UMN Accounting student Windy Sharen was awarded the highest score for CFAB-ICAEW certification.
“This certification is internationally recognized so it is beneficial in increasing potential and more value in applying for jobs. Through ICAEW, as a certification holder, we also become part of ICAEW, and ICAEW can help expand connections in the professional world,” Windy explained.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) is a professional membership organization that promotes, develops, and supports professional practicing accountants and students worldwide. ICAEW was established by the United Kingdom in 1880. As of July 2022, the 100-year-old organization has more than 198,000 members and students in 147 countries.
