May 20, 2022TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) proudly announces that 18 UMN students from various majors passed the selection of the Indonesia International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) program. This is a massive leap from last year’s achievements. In 2021, 2 UMN students passed the IISMA program.
IISMA is a governmental scholarship program under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program, where they fund students to study overseas. Selected undergraduate students could spend one semester abroad at university partners to study, experience the country’s culture, and enhance their skills.
“UMN has been actively participating in the IISMA program since it started (last year). The increase in the number of UMN students accepted into IISMA from 2 to 18 is very encouraging because it is evidence of increased student competence,” Dr. Ninok Leksono, the Chancellor of UMN, proudly said.
As an accredited A university, UMN always strives to guide and encourage students to excel academically and professionally and positively benefit society. Hence, UMN has always supported Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology’s programs, such as the IISMA program and other Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka programs, which aim to develop the nation’s students’ competencies and encourage academic freedom.
This achievement is also highly praised by Dr. Rahmat Sriwijaya, the Head of IISMA, “Multimedia University is incredible. UMN doesn’t forget to appreciate the first two students who passed the IISMA program, namely Jeane Hilary, who was sent to study at the University of Limerick in Ireland, and Cathlin Andiny, who was sent to study at Korea University in South Korea.
