Education and learning are the world of Prof. Dr. Muliawati G Siswanto. He admitted that during school and college he was very fond of learning activities. He started his career starting from being a lecturer at the University of Indonesia (UI) in (1968). Even at the age of 50, this woman who also turned out to be a basketball hobby had decided to retire from her job at UI to focus on her children and grandchildren. But because he received many job offers, Prof. Dr. Muliawati decided to postpone his retirement.
His experience in the rectorate world is unquestionable, Prof. Dr. Muliawati was once the Vice Chancellor at the University of Indonesia. He also previously served as Chancellor at President University in Cikarang. It didn’t stop there, the woman who had been a post-director at Pelita Harapan University (UPH). In the end, this woman who is also fluent in English and German received an offer at UMN as the vice-chancellor for Relations and Cooperation at UMN in 2007. She took the offer because she considered that Kompas Gramedia is a company that has a vision and mission that always builds and educate people to be good, smart and have character.
Regarding the educational background, Prof. Dr. Muliawati does not need to be questioned anymore. At the undergraduate level, he is a graduate student of the physics study program at the Bandung Institute of Technology. His educational journey was continued by taking a Masters degree in the Leisure Technology program at UI. Not satisfied with this, he also took the doctorate level which happened to be at UI as well.
Prof. DR Muliawati’s deep career began with her interest in education. Muliawati admitted that she began to realize her interest in this matter from her undergraduate level, at that time Prof. Dr. Muliawati was very fond of learning activities, to the point that she did not have a dream to have a career in Industry. She realized that a job in the world of education was the right fit for Muliawati.
After more than 10 years of career and serving as Vice Chancellor for Relations and Cooperation, Muliawati hopes that UMN can establish much more good cooperative relationships than before with other universities. With the aim of being able to raise the name of UMN itself and the recognition of the existing curriculum on campus. In addition, Muliawati also wants UMN graduates to be able to become 3 things, namely: Good and professional workers, Entrepreneurs and become pioneers in the academic world to build future education.
