July 18, 2022The Pros and Cons of Hybrid Learning
July 18, 2022TANGERANG – There are several reasons that make Private Universities no less competitive than State Universities.
UMN friends, did you know that Indonesia has two types of universities? These two types of universities are grouped based on the agency or group that manages them. First, there are state universities, or what we usually call state campuses, which are managed by state institutions. The other type of university is a private university or private campus which is usually managed by private institutions.
For state universities, usually, the path that can be taken by prospective students is the National Selection for State Higher Education Entrance and Joint Selection for State University Entrance, but some also open independent pathways. Well, for private universities, you can usually take the independent path or the scholarship path. There are also several types of scholarships: academic achievement path and non-academic achievement path.
Over time, private universities are also able to compete in providing education to their students. Here are some things that make private universities no less competitive than state universities.
Accreditation that is not inferior to state universities
Accreditation is one indicator of the quality of educational institutions in Indonesia. The institution that assesses the quality of an educational institution at the level of a university nationally is the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Did you know that Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) as an institution has received accreditation “A” from BAN-PT? This is stated in the decision letter of BAN-PT number 1068/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/PT/XII/2021.

1. Academic Path
The UMN Academic Path is for prospective students who meet the requirements after being evaluated by the UMN New Student Admissions Committee. This pathway uses academic scores (from your high school/vocational high school report card) as a reference for assessment (test-less) and is required to receive a “Grade A” from UMN. For complete terms, visit here.
2. Regular Test-Path
You can register for this route offline by visiting the campus or online on the UMN website. After registering, you are required to take the test on a specified date. The test materials are English, Mathematics, Psychological Test, and Drawing (for major Art & Design). Don’t forget to bring your stationeries like a 2B pencil and an eraser. Most importantly, don’t forget to bring your identification card.
3. Scholarship Path
UMN has four scholarship paths that you can join, namely:
